DescriptionAs an actuarial intern you will work on the delivery of a variety of insurance or actuarial consulting projects to support our life and general insurance clients. You will be responsible for data preparation as well as producing and analysing the initial results and will work closely with consultants and project managers across the region.
ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:
- Support the consultants and project managers on the delivery of a variety of insurance reinsurance or actuarial-related client projects which may include:
- IFRS 17
- Pricing underwriting and product design
- Statutory reserving
- Data analytics and predictive analytics
- Merger and acquisitions
- Regulatory solvency
- Reinsurance
- Risk management and capital management
- Assist with research analysis data preparation documentation and presentations
- Develop actuarial models to produce customised solutions for our clients
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and follow through to completion
- Attend and support on client meetings (mostly virtual) including taking minutes and managing action items
Performance Objectives:
- Work collaboratively with other consultants to determine initial data requirements examine obtained client information and perform any follow-up work required to complete the analysis and deliver the project in a timely manner
- Deliver high-quality work in compliance with Excellence standards
- Manage time effectively between multiple concurrent assignments
- Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines
- Deliver work tomeet or exceed client expectations
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary consulting team to analyze issues and develop value-added solutions for the clients
Qualifications- Students pursuing a Bachelor/Master Degree in Actuarial Science Mathematics Statistics or any other related quantitative fields or pursuing actuarial exams from recognised International Actuarial Bodies
- Prior actuarial / internship experience is not required.
- Basis understanding of life/general insurance or reinsuranceis preferred but not mandatory
- Able to commit at least 24 to 32 hours per week for the duration of the internship
- Strong proficiency in both Thai and English
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and Powerpoint
- Proactive self-motivated and has a strong sense of responsibility
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fast learner who has a strong willingness to learn and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Well-organised detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
