As a Senior Engineer supporting Research & Development you will play a pivotal role in advancing projects focused on the development and evaluation of sapphire fibers for integration into Alcons innovative fiber-optic technologies. Your responsibilities will include optimizing and enhancing the performance of the fibers.
In this role a typical day will include:
- Collaborate with staff to investigate the properties of sapphire fibers
- Measure polish and test tips and fibers
- Support research activities pertaining to performance improvements of sapphire fibers
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 10 yrs; Assoc.6 yrs; M.S.0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read write understand and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
- Experience with fiber engineering and lasers; opto-mechanical skills desired
- Programming knowledge specifically Python and Labview
- Willing to be hands-on to grow polish and test sapphire fiber
