SUMMARY
The Co-Op/Internship opportunity includes a variety of meaningful assignments that allow students to gain valuable experience in the manufacturing environment. The assignments provide students with opportunities to develop by integrating classroom theory with practical hands-on work and to demonstrate their skills for future career opportunities at will observe each stage of the manufacturing process via observation and hands-on training and assist engineering staff in the development and implementation of the complete part-specific process adhering to the Quality Management System all applicable regulations and Lean Manufacturing principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist the Manufacturing Engineer with all aspects of the part-specific process including resource planning and project timelines to ensure customer requirements and quoted standards are met.
- Update and maintain the production job packets which include item masters bills of material and routers etc.
- Build process documentation and work instructions utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Students will enhance their professional presentation and communication skills both oral and written by providing a formal business presentation on their projects and by working with all levels of the organization.
- Support Continuous Improvement Projects and lean manufacturing principles on the production floor.

Education and/or Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline (Manufacturing or Mechanical preferred). Proficient in basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational problem-solving and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card status.
