Department Summary
Personalized Healthcare Solutions mission is to develop diagnostic products of the highest quality to ensure that every cancer patient receives the most beneficial treatment option through targeted therapy.
What We do:
Develop high medical value diagnostic assays that identify the appropriate patients who will respond to specific targeted therapies.
Partner with pharmaceutical companies to enable clinical trial initiation by providing assays for new drug targets.
Promote diverse (internal and external) collaborations while respecting demanding schedules and advocating integrity and quality.
Provide the most comprehensive training for end users composed of laboratory personnel histotechnologists pathologists and oncologists.
This internship position is located in Tucson on-site.
The Opportunity
Executes laboratory experiments; makes detailed observations and analyzes data.
Prepares technical reports summaries and quantitative analyses.
Maintains complete and accurate records.
Normally receives detailed directions on all work.
Makes suggestions to improve work processes.
Assists in reducing to practice patentable inventions.
Works on projects of moderate scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
May participate in cross functional technical team activities.
Presents and discusses data within group.
Monitors work to ensure quality and continuously promote Quality First Time.
Has some knowledge of IHC and scanning slides.
Is familiar with assessing quality of images and organizing images.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-weeks full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June 2026.
A stipend based on location will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Required Education
You meet one of the following criteria:
Must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree (enrolled student).
Required Majors: Biomedical Engineering Biology Chemistry Physiology or Cancer Biology.
Required Skills:
Knows basic and some specialized laboratory techniques.
Skilled with use of word processing spreadsheets graphical and presentation software applications.
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Qualifications
Excellent communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Arizona is $23.00 - $28.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience qualifications geographic location and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
