Job description Looking for a skilled PHP Developer with strong hands-on experience in Laravel framework and WordPress development. The candidate should have a solid understanding of backend development REST APIs database design and theme/plugin customization in WordPress. The ideal candidate must be capable of writing clean optimized code debugging application issues and collaborating closely with the design QA and project teams to ensure smooth delivery
Tasks
Responsibilities include:
Developing optimizing and maintaining web applications using PHP and Laravel
Creating and customizing WordPress themes and plugins as per project requirements
Developing and consuming RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations
Writing reusable secure and scalable backend code with adherence to best practices
Troubleshooting bugs performing root-cause analysis and ensuring smooth application performance
Working with MySQL databases: writing queries optimizing tables and improving performance
Ensuring UI/UX integration by collaborating with front-end teams
Maintaining code quality using version control (Git) and following coding standards
Participating in requirement discussions sprint planning and daily standups
Implementing security best practices and safeguarding application data Testing features validating functionality and supporting deployment activities
Requirements
Requirements The candidate must fulfill the following requirements for the PHP Developer profile:
17 years of hands-on experience in PHP Laravel and WordPress Strong understanding of MVC architecture and Laravel ecosystem
Experience in custom WordPress theme & plugin development
Good knowledge of MySQL database queries indexes migrations and schema design
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON data handling Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Ability to write clean maintainable and well-documented code
Experience with Git version control and branching workflows
Basic understanding of HTML CSS JavaScript jQuery for front-end integration
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience
Nice to Have
Exposure to WooCommerce Elementor Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
Knowledge of Laravel ecosystem tools like Horizon Telescope or Forge
Experience with performance optimization caching and security hardening
Familiarity with deployment tools (e.g. GitHub Actions Laravel Envoy)
Understanding of SEO-friendly development practices
Technical skills
A PHP Developer must possess strong technical skills and understanding of core development concepts such as: PHP & Laravel:
Strong expertise in Laravel framework blade templates middleware queues jobs and services
WordPress Development: Custom themes plugins hooks filters shortcodes and WP functions
Database Management: MySQL queries stored procedures indexing database optimization
API Development: Creating and integrating REST APIs
Version Control: Experience with Git branching strategies and repository management
Front-end Collaboration: Basic skills in HTML CSS JavaScript and jQuery
Tools & Frameworks: Composer XAMPP/WAMP Postman phpMyAdmin WP-CLI Tools
Experience with tools such as: Git GitHub / GitLab Composer phpMyAdmin / MySQL Workbench Postman WP-CLI VS Code / PHPStorm .
