The Food and Beverage Team Leader is essential in overseeing and coordinating the activities of our restaurant bar room service and function operations. You will work closely with the Restaurant and Bar Manager to ensure that all services operate smoothly and meet the high standards synonymous with Hind Management.

As a Food and Beverage Team Leader you will lead by example and foster a culture of teamwork delivering exceptional service to our guests and ensuring their satisfaction. You will embody the values of Hind Management by caring for our guests doing the right thing and collaborating with your colleagues.

This full-time role minimum of 30 hours per week based in Sudima Christchurch City.

Responsibilities Ngā haepapa

  • Prepare daily banking and cash flow reports supervise cash handling and banking procedures
  • Continuously works to improve the efficiency of the restaurant by optimising productivity with the lowest possible cost. Studies and examines operations administers cost reduction exercises throughout the hotel
  • Maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of Liquor Licensing Laws and Host Responsibility.
  • Ensure that all colleagues understand and uphold the hotels code of responsible service of alcohol
  • Use a leadership style that creates a positive environment where colleagues are motivated to deliver consistently high standards of service.
  • Communicate effectively with subordinates and managers.
  • In conjunction with superiors participates in training and development.
  • Conduct on-the-job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintain a record of progress for each staff member i.e. coffee training sequence of service etc.
  • Ensure the correct and careful use of all equipment in the department
  • In liaison with superiors assist in the development implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive training program that addresses the needs of the department.
  • Ensure that all staff are orientated; including polices & procedures all hotel service standards and roles/responsibilities
  • To ensure that all guests are provided with superior customer service at all times.
  • Take appropriate action on all guest feedback whether positive or negative and actively install a totally guest focused and continuous improvement approach throughout the department


Requirements

About you Ko koe tēnei

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced food and beverage environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and positively influence a team.
  • Strong customer service focus and commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Sound knowledge of the food and beverage industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Basic financial acumen and experience with cash management.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience with a Property Management System (PMS) would be advantageous.
  • A valid LCQ (License Controller Qualification) or GM (General Manager) License is preferred with a willingness to obtain if not held.
  • Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
