Company Overview
Are you ready to see your career take flight At GE Aerospace we believe the world works better when it flies. We are a world-leading provider of jet engines components and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft. We have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen.
2 Roles Available:
Site Overview
For more than 40 years our advanced facilities in Singapore have led aerospace innovation across Asia Pacific. From automating processes to leveraging smart factory technologies robotics and additive manufacturing GE Aerospace is shaping the future of aviation at GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS). GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.
Role Overview:
CNC/process engineering
Own and elevate CNC manufacturing excellence across milling turning grinding and EDM to deliver step-change improvements in safety first-pass yield cycle time and cost.
Architect robust processes end-to-end: develop simulate and validate CNC programs (35 axis multi-control) define routings and industrialize NPI/FAI with complete documentation and audit readiness.
Establish process capability as the standard: lead fixture strategy and GD&T application run Cp/Cpk studies deploy in-process probing and metrology and lock in repeatability with standard work.
Attack chronic losses: lead rigorous RCA (5-Why fishbone) execute DOEs and implement parameter tooling and path optimizations that measurably improve OEE and TAT.
Set the technical bar on special materials: optimize feeds/speeds toolpaths and cooling strategies for Inconel and Titanium including adaptive machining and feature restoration
OR
Automation/robotics integration
Lead the conception design software development commissioning and qualification of custom semi/fully automated cells that eliminate safety risks boost productivity and shrink TAT.
Build intelligent automation: program PLC/HMI integrate and tune robots (Fanuc/ABB) and deploy 2D/3D vision (Keyence/Halcon/OpenCV) for guidance inspection and closed-loop decisions.
Command commissioning rigor: drive FAT/SAT IQ/OQ/PQ and handover with documentation training and acceptance criteria locked to SQDC outcomes.
Own an automation pipeline: perform shop assessments quantify ROI prioritize the highest-impact use cases and deliver production-ready solutions on time and within budget.
Sustain and scale: establish PM strategies spares fault recovery and performance dashboards (MTBF/MTTR/OEE) to harden reliability and enable replication across lines.
Ideal Candidate
A hands-on shop-floor leader equally comfortable on a CNC machine and automation. You bring deep CNC programming/operations expertise and strong automation integration skills (robotics PLC/HMI vision). You mentor operators and technicians lead cross-functional projects end to end and consistently deliver measurable improvements in safety quality delivery and cost in a high-mix aerospace MRO environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or higher in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Mechatronics/Engineering (or related) with 7 years hands-on CNC experience in aerospace; or Diploma in Precision Engineering with 10 years supervisory/managerial CNC experience.
Proven CNC programming and operations across 35 axis milling turning grinding and EDM; experience with adaptive machining and aerospace materials (Inconel Titanium).
Minimum 3 years developing and commissioning robotics (Fanuc/ABB) with vision-enabled automated applications; track record delivering custom automated equipment into production.
Strong GD&T engineering drawings and fixture design capability; ownership of First Article/NPI and process qualifications.
Demonstrated ability to independently assess plan and deliver projects with cross-functional teams and external vendors within stringent timelines; strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
CAD/CAM: Siemens NX SolidWorks.
CNC controls: Fanuc Siemens Heidenhain; tooling selection and process optimization expertise.
Automation and robotics: PLC/HMI development and commissioning; robot programming/integration (Fanuc/ABB/KUKA/UR); qualification of automated cells in production environments.
Vision systems and imaging: 2D/3D camera integration and image processing; Halcon Keyence and/or OpenCV.
Software: Practical exposure to C/C/C# for custom automation interfaces or tooling; familiarity with mechanical and electrical design is a plus.
Equipment reliability: Maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines robots and automated systems.
Project management: Planning risk management stakeholder communication; delivery to TAT yield and productivity targets; strong analytical problem-solving; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
At GE Aerospace we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen. Here you will have the opportunity to work on really cool things with really smart and collaborative people. Together we will mobilize a new era of growth in aerospace and defense.
