This position is for current students of an accredited Engineering program.
This internship experience will support the design and validation of various low-pressure and high-pressure gasoline engine components. The student will also support other departments in the plant (production quality etc) when development related tasks arise.
Examples of tasks include:
- Tear-downs of field return/development tested components to expose internal failure locations in order to analyze surface conditions.
- Documentation of tear-down investigations (presentations and/or reports) and presenting results
- Coordinating and conducting design related testing
- Data analysis interpretation and presentation of testing results
- Creating scripts in order to automate repetitive tasks.
Qualifications :
Preferred Skills and Background:
- Interest in Automotive Background
- Mechanical background along with general understanding of material
- Matlab and CAD experience
- Coding experience (python javascript etc)
- Ability to effectively present and communicate findings
- Ability to work within a team
- Knowledge of mechanical drawing Geometric dimension & tolerance
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Materials Science with at least one semester completed.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
