SUMMARY:
Assembles installs and repairs sheet metal products parts and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assembles units exhaust fans house doors damper hoods and makes pan rings according to job order
- Smooths burred surfaces with files and grinders
- Lay and attach metal or wood flooring and/or covering
- Apply primer paint and caulk as needed
- Perform close up requirements
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Ability to understand structural drawings
- Understanding of 6S
- Basic math skills
- Basic reading/writing skills
- Knowledge of basic hand tools
- Ability to read/understand a tape measure
- Ability to use a paintbrush
- Ability to operate air assisted paint gun
- Knowledge of different types of flooring
- Knowledge and understanding of metal types and gauging
- Ability to utilize pneumatic/hydraulic hand tools
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training.
