Job Summary

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Occupational Therapist Team Leader to join us in a Permanent Full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield opening early 2026. As Maters first new public hospital in over 60 years this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds ICU maternity emergency and surgical services its set to care for over 200000 patients annually.

Salary range: $64.64 $69.55 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing

As the Occupational Therapist Team Leader you will provide high-level clinical care leadership and mentorship to ensure the delivery of patient-centred evidence-based occupational therapy services across Mater Health.

You will use your specialist knowledge and clinical judgement to manage complex cases guide and support less experienced practitioners and lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes for patients and the service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a specialist caseload with a high degree of autonomy and clinical expertise
  • Providing specialist advice and consultation to occupational therapy and multidisciplinary teams
  • Offering clinical supervision training and mentoring to staff students and support personnel
  • Contributing to the operational management of workloads and service delivery priorities
  • Leading the development of new models of care procedures and clinical protocols
  • Initiating and evaluating quality and service improvement projects
  • Promoting a positive learning culture and fostering professional development within the team
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated patient-focused care

About you

You are a dynamic and collaborative Occupational Therapist with a strong commitment to clinical excellence leadership and continuous improvement. You bring advanced clinical reasoning communication and mentoring skills and are motivated to drive best practice across the team.

You will bring:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with AHPRA
  • Eligibility for a Medicare provider number
  • Extensive clinical experience in complex caseload management and multidisciplinary care
  • Proven ability to lead and support others through supervision mentoring and education
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to foster collaboration across teams
  • Demonstrated initiative in quality improvement research or service development activities

Desirable:

  • Experience in wound care compression therapy or assistive technologies
  • Eligibility for accreditation with the ALA practice register
  • Demonstrated leadership in the operational delivery of clinical services
