Description

The Transportation Authority of Calhoun County (TACC) is looking for an Operations Supervisor Administration to supervise the daily administrative activities of Fleet and Facilities Flex & Move Max & Dispatch. This position oversees the Operations Supervisors Shift and reports to the Operations Manager Fleet and Facilities Operations Manager Max and Operations Manager Flex & Move. This position has an expected schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm but may be required to work alternate shifts and/or days as required

Essential Functions

  • Supervises staff to include: assisting with conducting performance evaluations; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; and making disciplinary decisions and recommendations on an as needed basis; prioritizing and assigning employee work.
  • Ensures that TACC standards of safety courtesy and reliability are met by daily monitoring operations for adherence to TACC policies rules regulations and schedules. Confers with employees regarding proper safety procedures defensive driving techniques customer relations issues report preparation and new or revised policies procedures and schedules; counsels an takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Provides field and dispatch supervision as required/needed; furnishes advice assistance and direction with regard to situations that arise as a result of field operations; monitors and evaluates operator field activities and skill levels.
  • Monitors schedules routes and equipment through inspection; investigates and reports on schedule and route deficiencies and problems; recommends changes as necessary.
  • Provides information to the public regarding TACC services; responds to inquiries and complaints regarding services; assures that appropriate information is provided and problems are resolved.
  • Executes contingency plans and adapts service for unexpected weather and route conditions equipment failure employee illness and similar occurrences.
  • Periodically monitors and reviews calls and cameras to observe employees demeanor technical accuracy and conformity to TACC policies.
  • Takes charge of safety events or other emergency scenes ensuring safety and security of operators customers and TACC equipment; operates buses or vans when necessary reroutes buses or vans and adjusts headways in response to field conditions; conducts on-the-scene investigation and documentation.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three to Five years experience in public transportation
  • One year in a supervisory capacity in public transportation or a directly related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 to 2 years in a public transportation position as a driver dispatcher mechanic or similar role.
  • Transit Safety and Security Program (TSSP) Certificate within 3 years of hire.
Special Requirements:
  • Valid Class B commercial driers license with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements within 180 days of hire.
  • Possession of a DOT medical examiners certificate.
  • Strong computer skills with proven competency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This work is sedentary and requires little to no exertion of force; work regularly requires sitting bending reaching hand dexterity (grasping holding keyboarding repetitive movements) reading writing eye-hand coordination seeing (near and/or far color depth field of vision) hearing using the telephone contact with government officials and the general public working overtime and working inside and alone. The incumbent will be exposed to diesel exhaust and/or airborne particles.
