Sustaining Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on troubleshooting repair and maintenance of automation systems and semiconductor equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs robotics systems SCADA vision systems and data connectivity.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of automation equipment.
• Develop modify and optimize PLC programs and robotic control logic for automation systems.
• Design and validate robotic structures and end effectors for automated assembly and material handling.
• Manage calibration of parts sensors and components to maintain accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Update and maintain engineering specifications drawings and documentation for sustaining projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing Quality Vendors) to implement improvements and resolve technical issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with Applied Materials standards SEMI regulations and EHS requirements.
• Support spare parts management and coordinate with suppliers for retrofits and technical assistance.
• Maintain a positive proactive and can-do attitude when addressing challenges.

Functional Knowledge

• Expert-level PLC programming (Siemens Allen-Bradley or equivalent) for automation control systems.
• Strong hands-on experience in robotics programming (Fanuc ABB KUKA or similar platforms).
• Knowledge of robotic structure design kinematics and end effector integration for semiconductor applications.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting automation hardware and control systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial networking concepts.
• Knowledge of vision systems and automated assembly processes.
• Understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT AI machine learning cyber-physical systems).
• Mechanical knowledge: assembly processes alignment and structural requirements for equipment installation.
• Ability to interpret and update engineering specifications and technical documentation.
• Skilled in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for troubleshooting.
• Calibration expertise for sensors actuators and precision components.
