Job Overview/Summary: The Medical Specialist I is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care including assessment diagnosis treatment and follow-up for individuals with a variety of medical conditions. This role involves direct clinical care collaboration with interdisciplinary teams supervision of medical staff and ensuring continuity and quality of care in compliance with agency state and federal requirements.
Responsibilities: -
Obtain review update and document medical histories test results diagnoses treatments and individual responses in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Conduct physical examinations and order perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.

Determine and confirm diagnoses and treat a variety of specialized medical conditions.

Prescribe and administer medications therapies vaccinations and other medical treatments.

Conduct follow-up examinations monitor individual progress and modify treatment plans as needed.

Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams to achieve treatment goals and ensure continuity of care.

Explain procedures diagnoses test results and treatment plans to individuals families and caregivers.
-
Refer individuals to appropriate healthcare providers based on diagnostic and treatment needs.

Participate in discharge planning and coordinate medical follow-up after discharge.

Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with agency state and federal regulations.

Supervise and oversee individual care activities and administration of treatments.
-
Consult with and advise other medical professionals on diagnoses and treatment plans; review and approve treatment recommendations.

Provide clinical supervision guidance and training to medical nursing and direct care staff.

Review individual records to ensure accuracy of diagnoses appropriateness of treatment and proper documentation.

Assign care activities approve leave track attendance and complete performance evaluations as required.

Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams meetings committees and workgroups.

Assist in the development implementation and revision of clinical policies and procedures.

Develop implement and/or supervise residency training programs and specialized healthcare education initiatives as applicable.
