Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Chief Commercial Officer the Supply Chain Superintendent will lead all aspects of the supply chain service with the goal of obtaining quality goods and services at the lowest possible cost and adhering to the companys strategy and company standards and requirements in all processes.

The Supply Chain Superintendent must ensure that:

  • Promote the design development and location of warehouses distribution and logistics.
  • Manage labor costs staff productivity inventory levels data accuracy and storage strategies.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of the departments activities and operations.
  • Create and maintain safety work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Establish and adjust work procedures to meet warehouse requirements production schedules established workflows and safety guidelines.
  • Implement strategies to improve the quality of service.
  • Maintain various supply chain plans and strategies.
  • Optimize operational resources while reducing costs and controlling inventory.
  • Conduct monthly capacity and performance analyses to ensure forecasts and schedules are aligned and integrated.
  • Perform short- and long-term planning and inventory analysis for warehouse utilization.
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping companies freight forwarders customs brokers warehouse managers and related third-party logic service providers.
  • Ensure that appropriate import and export procedures are followed by employees and contracted service providers.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with suppliers vendors and shipping contacts throughout the supply cycle.
  • Manage the Procurement operational function.
  • Manage multiple procurement contracts and critical contracts.
  • Actively plan and respond to physical needs and contractual requirements.
  • Negotiate agreements with suppliers and maintain strong business relationships with them.
  • Participate in the development of an inventory reduction strategy.
  • Participate in the implementation of sustainable development policies and procedures.
  • Actively participates in and occasionally leads safety meetings and discussions.
  • Actively engage with the companys goals and objectives engage with the local community and strive to leave a positive impact on long-term outcomes for the local population. Foster integration between this commitment and the success of the company.
  • Identify potential savings opportunities and take appropriate action. Explore these ideas and conduct a feasibility study to realize potential savings.
  • Make daily and month-end reports to the Sales Director.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the supply chain teams responsible for managing all facility procurement functions in accordance with order-on-delivery processes and KPIs.
  • Manage the team and relationships with other departments to ensure that all compliance documents and process governance are in place.
  • Responsible for supply chain processes planning material requirements inventory management demand and order management supply chain performance and logistics.
  • Responsible for developing the supply chain organizational design key company inventory metrics point-of-use material availability component availability and reducing cash to cash cycle time.
  • Ensure appropriate reporting on all Supply Chain functions.
  • Responsible for improving supply chain performance.
  • Responsible for the departments budget including forecasting for all aspects of the supply chain both in terms of spend and inventory.

Profil

  • Good knowledge and good relations with service providers.
  • Must know how to proactively engage suppliers in identifying potential problems solutions and opportunities.
  • Must know how to develop communication solutions that create value reduce problems and preemptively solve consistent problems.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all types of people via phone email face-to-face and video conferencing.
  • Very good working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) solutions
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
Training / Education Requirements:
  • Supply Chain Certification would be an asset
  • B license at least.
  • Bac 4 or equivalent in supply chain or engineering or international law with certifications in management or supply chain.
Experience required:
  • 7-10 years of experience in the supply chain/supply chain to the mining industry including at least 5 years at the supervisory level.
  • Experience in inventory planning and budgeting management
  • Experience in the mining sector will be an asset.
  • The candidate must be an excellent speaker and communicator.
Language Requirements:
  • Bilingual French/English
  • Knowledge of Malinké is an asset
