Job Title: Fundraising Specialist
Reports to: Regional Programme Manager

Job Purpose
The Fundraising Specialist will lead SIHAs resource mobilization and donor engagement efforts across the region. This role is central to strengthening SIHAs fundraising systems cultivating strategic partnerships and developing innovative sustainable funding strategies aligned with SIHAs feminist values movement-building approach and regional priorities.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Resource Mobilization
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and resource mobilization strategy aligned with SIHAs strategic plan and feminist principles.
Proactively identify assess and pursue funding opportunities from bilateral multilateral foundation and private sector donors.
Anticipate funding trends and align donor opportunities with SIHAs thematic and geographic priorities.
Proposal Development & Donor Compliance
Lead the development of high-quality concept notes and funding proposals in close collaboration with program and country teams.
Ensure strong alignment between program narratives logical frameworks and donor priorities.
Collaborate closely with the Finance team to develop accurate compliant and cost-effective proposal budgets.
Ensure consistency between narrative proposals and financial submissions including clear justification of key budget lines.
Donor Engagement & Relationship Management
Build maintain and strengthen long-term trust-based relationships with existing and prospective donors.
Ensure timely donor communication reporting stewardship and follow-up.
Represent SIHA in donor meetings funding discussions and strategic engagements as required.
Systems Strengthening & Internal Capacity Building
Support the strengthening of internal systems for donor tracking proposal development and knowledge management.
Provide capacity building coaching and mentorship to SIHA staff on fundraising proposal writing donor engagement and compliance.
Contribute to improving overall proposal quality competitiveness and compliance across the organization.
Communications & Visibility
Collaborate with the Communications team to enhance donor engagement through storytelling publications and digital content.
Translate complex programmatic and feminist narratives into compelling donor-facing materials that communicate impact effectively.
Requirements
ualifications and Experience
Masters degree in International Development Gender Studies Social Sciences or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in fundraising resource mobilization or donor relations within civil society organizationspreferably feminist or womens rights movements.
Proven track record of securing funding from institutional donors (e.g. UN agencies EU FCDO USAID SIDA foundations).
Strong understanding of donor compliance frameworks budgeting principles and cost allocation.
Demonstrated experience collaborating with finance teams to develop detailed compliant proposal budgets.
In-depth knowledge of the Horn of Africa context with experience working in one or more SIHA member countries.
Strong commitment to feminist values gender equality and social justice.
Excellent writing communication and storytelling skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and donor relationships.
Fluency in English required; Arabic is an added advantage.
