Job Summary

St. Clements School is currently looking for a part-time (0.67) French Teacher to join our school commencing on January 19 2026 and for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. There is potential for this to become a full-time permanent position.

The St. Clements Languages Program helps students develop and strengthen the skills needed to communicate effectively with members of the global community by inspiring in them an understanding of the modern world through different languages and diverse perspectives.

The French Teacher will teach two sections of FSF2D Grade 10 Core French and is responsible for planning preparing and delivering curriculum to meet the individual needs of our students using best practices in teaching French. The Teacher has the overall responsibility for preparation and teaching support and supervision of students preparation invigilation and correction of tests and exams participation in PD days departmental meetings and other required events and activities some of which occur outside of regular work hours and in the evenings. The French Teacher uses technology to enhance learning in the classroom supports LINCWell initiatives and implements best practices in the area of teaching French.

The Teacher will engage in full participation in the life of the School. Key responsibilities also include organizing and/or participating in co-curricular trips and activities which may fall before and after school hours and occasionally on weekends. Other duties may be assigned to support the School.

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES OF OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • A related degree and qualifications in French;
  • . and a Certificate of Qualification and Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT);
  • Fluent oral and written French;
  • French curriculum knowledge; experience in curriculum development an asset;
  • Excellent classroom management organizational and planning skills and experience in differentiating instruction;
  • Fluent in equity literacy with the ability to recognize respond to and redress conditions that are inequitable and actively demonstrate commitment to anti-oppression education.
  • Demonstrated ability to use and integrate technology to enhance learning;
  • Exploration and support of interdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning opportunities;
  • Strong leadership communication teamwork and instructional skills;
  • Working and planning effectively in close collaboration with colleagues;
  • A record of encouraging nurturing and supporting students love of learning;
  • Commitment to co-curricular activities coaching and participation in school life;
  • Coach organize and/or participate in co-curricular trips and activities which may fall before and after school hours and occasionally on weekends and may include occasional supervision of overnight student trips both national and international;
  • A passion for languages and language education;
  • Criminal record check is required as a condition of employment; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION

  • Salary is based on our Faculty Salary Grid and varies by qualifications and years of experience: Salaries below based on full-time equivalency of (1.0):

Salaries are based on qualifications and experience. The range for individuals with less than seven years of qualifying teaching experience is $60000-$105000 and the range for individuals with more than seven years of qualifying teaching experience is $85000-$134000. Progression within this band is based on set qualifications and experience)
