Job Summary

The Armed Forces Recruiting Service (AFRS) will see MOD Serco and their consortium of partners providing a Tri-Service recruiting solution which for the RN will commence on 1 Apr 27. AFRS will provide end to end support from candidate attraction to assessment to preparing to join Phase 1 training. The solution will utilise Service Personnel in high value candidate facing roles in the Command and Support Unit and in recruitment selection Under-Represented Groups outreach and the national career centre.

Unit & Position Role
Unit Function	The HQ AFR will deliver integrated tri-service recruitment for the Armed Forces to build and maintain force levels able to meet Defence outputs.
Position Role	Assessment of candidates suitability forOther Rank(OR)trainingandexecution of assessment eventsand exercisesat Assessment Centre.

Responsibilities
1. Conduct briefing sessions assessment selection exercises and interviews of candidates.
2. Evaluate each Candidate against fixed event exercise criteria.
3. Make recommendations regarding the candidates suitability for a career in the Services and chosen role.
4. Ensure that accurate and relevant event and result records and observations are created and maintained for all OR candidates using AFRS system.
5. Oversee the development of selection process through reviews of assessment practice support assurance and drive continuous improvement.
6. Oversight of DoC / pastoral care and welfare support to Candidates and U18s in accordance with the HoE Supervisory Care Directive.
7. Share personal lived experience of life in the Armed Forces to engage and inform candidates.
8. Perform line manager and reporting officer responsibilities.
