Ipswich Borough Council are about to see the biggest changes to waste and recycling which will impact our residents in Ipswich and all our businesses.

Its an exciting time to join us.

We are seeking Refuse Cat C Drivers and Refuse Relief Drivers to join us in March 2026 and to be part of the councils refuse and cleansing team.

You will:

need a Category C driving licence and driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) card
be able to load refuse bins each day
be confident in using handheld tablets to record information (training will be provided)
demonstrate self-awareness and confident approach to health and safety
be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
need effective communications skills
be experienced in working as a team with a can-do attitude
be required to work early starts from 5am and variations to finishing times required.
