The Opportunity

A diverse and inclusive primary school in Harrow is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs. This role is perfect for candidates who enjoy variety and want to work with pupils across different age groups and needs including Autism SEMH ADHD and learning difficulties.

You will support pupils in both mainstream classrooms and small group settings helping them access the curriculum develop independence and manage social and emotional challenges. Some 1:1 support may also be required depending on individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN within the classroom and small group sessions

  • Assist with differentiated learning activities and curriculum access

  • Support emotional regulation social skills and behaviour strategies

  • Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans

  • Assist pupils with transitions and unstructured times

  • Record observations and contribute to progress monitoring

  • Work collaboratively with teachers SENCo and external professionals

  • Promote a safe inclusive and nurturing environment

Person Specification

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in mainstream or resource settings

  • Calm empathetic and resilient approach

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Confident following structured SEN and behaviour plans

  • Willingness to engage in professional development

This role is suitable for both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and those looking to build specialist SEN skills.
