Position Title: Monitor Technician
Location: Jamaica NY 11432
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening Shift 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
Schedule: 5 days per week 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $25.00 $27.00 per hour
Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Monitor Technician for a contract assignment in Jamaica NY. In this critical role the Monitor Technician will provide continuous cardiac telemetry surveillance accurately identifying rhythm changes and promptly notifying clinical staff of any significant or life-threatening events. This position plays a vital role in patient safety and clinical care coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Continuous Cardiac Monitoring: Observe and interpret patient EKG rhythms from a centralized telemetry station.
Rhythm Interpretation: Identify and recognize cardiac dysrhythmias including but not limited to atrial fibrillation PVCs heart blocks bradycardia and tachycardia.
Clinical Communication: Immediately report life-threatening or abnormal rhythm changes to nursing and medical staff.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate telemetry logs provide rhythm strips for patient records and document baseline rhythms at the start of each shift.
Vital Signs Support: Assist with obtaining and recording patient vital signs as needed.
Equipment Oversight: Ensure telemetry equipment is functioning properly; troubleshoot issues such as lead disconnections or low battery alerts.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Certifications:
Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy electrical conduction and telemetry monitoring.
Professional Skills: Excellent attention to detail strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced clinical environment.
