Title:Assistant Practice Manager - NHMP New Milford OB/GYN Sharon OB/GYN & New Milford Womens Wellness Center. Full time/40 hours per week 8-hour shifts 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position will work 2 days per week at New Milford Hospital 2 days per week at the New Milford Womens Wellness Center and 1 day per week at Sharon Hospital.

  • Associate degree required or equivalent experience. Bachelors degree preferred
  • 2 years minimum in a supervisory role within a medical practice environment.
  • Strong interpersonal telephone and computer skills (Microsoft Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint required).
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10 CPT & HCPCS coding required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Summary: The Assistant Practice Manager reports to the Practice Manager and is responsible for providing leadership management and oversight to their assigned medical practice. Works with the providers and staff to optimize patient flow/processes reduce errors and improve access to service and the patient experience. Supports the clinical staffs ability to provide safe efficient and patient-centered care. Responsible for managing and meeting key performance indicators related to growth practice operations patient access/experience quality and finance.

Responsibilities:

1. Manages the day-to-day operations of the medical practice including oversight of clerical support staff and clinical support staff.

2. Assists in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term goals in conjunction with leadership to grow the business and increase market share based on Nuvance Health mission vision and values.

3. Measures reviews and meets key performance indicators (KPIs).

4. Manages and reviews provider scheduling templates hours/days of service no-show rates and cancellations to ensure appropriate patient access to service based on health system standards.

5. Manages and monitors staffing levels to established system benchmarks participate in staff hiring process SBAR development staff orientation performance reviews and any disciplinary action.

for hiring discipline grievance management performance evaluations feedback and coaching to achieve optimal team performance with input from Practice Manager Human Resources.

7. Proactively solves problems administrative issues or patient complaints in a timely and effective manner.

8. Train and educate staff to ensure compliance with health system policies and procedure compliance program and any federal/state regulations.

9. Ensures that all front-end processes are clear and well-executed to support a positive patient experience as well as efficient and accurate billing.

10. Holds monthly meetings with providers and non-provider staff and communicates any practice or health system changes and solicits feedback from the team members.

11. In conjunction with the Practice Manager meets with providers monthly to review provider dashboard results including profit and loss statements and practice variances. Works collaboratively with Physician Leads and Practice Manager to develop action plans for meeting or exceeding KPIs and communicates these actions plans to clinicians.

12. In conjunction with Practice Manager and Medical Practice Leadership identifies any capital needs and reviews operating budget and ensures that budgets are met.

13. Manages and maintains medical practice physical plant equipment and inventory control.

14. Provides oversite of patient registration check in point of service collections and correction of practice management system entry errors in coordination with Revenue Cycle department.

15. Provides guidance and assistance with scheduling new provider interviews on-boarding and any health plan credentialing activities.

16. Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Foundational Values (Personal Imaginative Agile Connected).

17. Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree required or equivalent experience. Bachelors degree preferred
  • 2 years minimum in a supervisory role within a medical practice environment.
  • Strong interpersonal telephone and computer skills (Microsoft Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint required).
  • Working knowledge of practice management and electronic medical record software systems (Soarian/Cerner preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10 CPT & HCPCS coding required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to travel within Nuvance Health system locations.

Salary Range: $28.78 - $53.45 Hourly (Pay per years of relative experience)
