AECOM is currently seeking a Health and safety Manager for a large multi-disciplinary Hydropower construction project located in Canada. The selected candidate will interact daily with the project team Client/Owner and contractors on-site teams and reporting directly to the Project Manager. This position may work anywhere in Canada with visits to site.
The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing implementing and overseeing health and safety policies and procedures for the hydropower project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in health and safety management within large-scale construction or engineering projects with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety management system tailored to the hydropower project.
- Conduct risk assessments and regular site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Lead health and safety training programs for project staff and subcontractors to promote a safety-first culture.
- Investigate accidents incidents and near misses and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics ensuring continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders regarding health and safety matters.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS plus 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 4 years of leadership
Preferred Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in the field of Safety or Engineering
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Health and Safety Course (30-hour Preferable)
Additional Information :
At least 3 years of experience in the same position in five-star hotels and international hotel chains
Must have spent at least 3 years in the same job in an international hotel chain
