Overview

The Emory Hematology and Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) post-graduate Fellowship is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2026 cohort.

The Emory Hematology and Medical Oncology APP Fellowship Program is accredited with distinction as an APP Fellowship Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.

The Emory Hematology and Medical Oncology APP Fellowship is a one-year program that provides a structured and supportive post-graduate training and education to hematology and medical oncology APPs to enhance quality and safety in patient care and to retainexemplary staff and improve outcomes.

Application Requirements:

  • Eligible to graduate from an accredited NP or PA program.
  • Completed application includes submission of the following supporting documentation:
    • Curriculum Vitae: educational background professional experience volunteer experience and other relevant information
    • Statement of Intent: One-page 12-point font double-spaced statement describing career goals and reasons for pursing the fellowship. Include future career plans and how they might be enhanced by additional training in the fellowship.
    • Three Letters of Recommendation (including one from Program Director or Current Supervisor if not a new graduate)
    • Official transcripts are required upon completion of graduate program and prior to starting residency. If you are a current student we require a copy of your transcript which reflects your most recent student status.

If selected to move forward candidates will be contacted via phone by Program Coordinators to schedule phone interviews.

DESCRIPTION:

  • The Emory Hematology and Medical Oncology APP Fellowship Program is a one-year program that prepares fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary collaborative and evidence-based management of complex and challenging patients in medical oncology and hematology bone marrow transplant and radiation oncology.
  • The Fellowships innovative curriculum covers the entire spectrum of oncology from cellular basics of cancer including management of benign hematological disorders through long-term survivor ship. They have exposure to the care of oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings with rotations through sub specialized clinics allowing the fellow to cultivate knowledge of specific oncology diseases.
  • The clinical rotations provide fellows with both solid and hematologic malignancy encounters simultaneously. The well-rounded and all-inclusive fellowship experience includes participation in services such as palliative care survivor ship integrative medicine and clinical trials.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of an accredited PA or NP masters program prior to the start of the fellowship program.
  • National board certification as a PA or NP. Eligible for licensure as a PA or NP in Georgia.
  • Eligible for DEA license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association are required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium):P 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking Occasional sitting Close eye work (computers typing reading writing) Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock Floor Surfaces Hot/Cold Temperatures Indoor/Outdoor conditions Latex Lighting Patient care/handling injuries Radiation Shift work Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment including respirators environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
