Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Schedule: Full-Time 40 Hours/Week
Pay Rate: Up to $21/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a short-term contract assignment in an outpatient clinical setting. The ideal candidate will support both clinical and administrative functions assist providers with patient care and help maintain efficient clinic operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulatory and privacy standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
Perform patient care tasks including vital signs venipuncture EKGs point-of-care testing and specimen collection/processing
Escort patients to exam and procedure rooms; assist with mobility and positioning as needed
Prepare patients and exam rooms; assist providers during procedures
Maintain exam room equipment and instruments per infection control and sterilization policies
Monitor medication and supply expiration dates and dispose of items per policy
Maintain required clinical logs (e.g. refrigeration sterilization POC testing)
Ensure compliance with PPE and safety regulations
Clerical & Administrative Duties:
Maintain and organize patient charts reports test results and forms
Enter provider orders into the EMR and prepare prescription refill requests
Obtain and manage lab results imaging reports hospital notes and referrals
Schedule patient appointments procedures and surgeries as needed
Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
Perform eligibility verification and pre-certifications when required
Inventory order and restock medical supplies
Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines
Familiarity with EMR systems (preferred)
Basic computer skills including MS Office
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program
Certified Medical Assistant (required)
BLS Certification (AHA required)
