Job Summary
Job Title: Information Security Engineer
Job Description
A public-sector organization is seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer to support security operations infrastructure protection and ongoing security initiatives across enterprise systems. The role requires hands-on technical expertise in securing IT environments and supporting compliance audits and security controls.
Work Location
Work arrangements may include:
Onsite support at organization offices (New York State locations)
Remote work options
Occasional field work at organization-supported sites as required
Responsibilities
Support day-to-day information security engineering and security operations
Secure enterprise IT environments across on-prem and cloud platforms
Implement and maintain security best practices for networks systems and cloud services
Assist with security audits compliance efforts and control assessments
Support identity access data protection and platform security initiatives
Collaborate with IT application and business teams to remediate security risks
Document security controls procedures and findings as required
Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience in information security engineering or security operations
Experience securing enterprise IT environments
Strong knowledge of network system and cloud security best practices
Experience supporting audits compliance activities and security controls
Strong documentation and communication skills
Technology Environment (Exposure Preferred)
Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server Azure SQL Server)
Office 365 / SharePoint Online security
CRM platform security exposure (e.g. Salesforce or similar)
Collaboration and tracking tools (Jira Confluence)
BI and reporting platforms (e.g. Tableau data access/security awareness)
Enterprise ERP systems (e.g. PeopleSoft or similar)
Preferred Certifications
Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNA)
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE)
Other relevant infrastructure or security certifications.
