Job Title: LVN / LPN Medical Surgical
Location: Rochester NY
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Options: 12-Hour Shifts Day and Night Shifts Available
Weekly Gross Pay: $1280
Position Overview
A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patient care. This role requires strong clinical skills effective communication and experience working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or physician
Monitor and document vital signs blood glucose levels and patient condition changes
Assist with admission ambulation bathing and personal hygiene care
Perform feeding tube care NG/G-tube management and catheter care (male and female Foley insertion)
Administer medications via oral IM SQ and subcutaneous routes as ordered
Provide oxygen therapy using nasal cannula and face masks
Perform routine nursing procedures including ear drops eye drops and mouth care
Assist with blood glucose monitoring and basic emergency care tasks
Follow isolation precautions and infection control standards
Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to RN/MD
Accurately document care in the EPIC electronic medical record system
Required Skills & Experience
Medical-Surgical / Telemetry experience
Emergency Department exposure preferred
Proficiency in:
Vital sign monitoring
Oxygen administration
Foley catheter insertion (male & female)
Feeding tube and NG/G-tube care
Blood glucose monitoring
Patient mobility and ADL assistance
EPIC EMR experience required
Certifications & Licensure
