Job Summary

Job Title: Financial Controller

Reporting to: CFO
Location: Serengeti Tanzania

Net Salary: USD 2000

A newly opened luxury tented camp in the Serengeti is seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee its full financial operations. This role is critical to ensuring strong financial governance accurate reporting and sustainable profitability within a boutique hospitality environment.

The successful candidate will serve as the financial lead on site supporting management decision-making through robust controls analysis and strategic financial insight.

Key Responsibilities;

Prepare review and maintain accurate financial statements management reports budgets and forecasts for the camp.
Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and general ledger.
Develop and manage annual budgets and financial plans in collaboration with camp management.
Conduct regular financial performance analysis identifying variances trends risks and opportunities to improve profitability.
Ensure full compliance with local tax statutory and regulatory requirements including coordination of audits where required.
Provide timely financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Supervise mentor and develop finance staff ensuring efficiency accuracy and strong internal controls.
Partner with department heads to optimize revenue and enforce effective cost controls.
Manage cash flow and working capital to maintain financial stability.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience;

Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field; CPA ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
35 years experience in a financial management role ideally within hospitality lodges or camps.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial regulations and tax compliance.
High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel or lodge systems is an added advantage.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and financial control skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote fast-paced environment.
Experience in a boutique hotel lodge or similar setting is a strong advantage.
