Job Title: Financial Controller
Reporting to: CFO
Location: Serengeti Tanzania
Net Salary: USD 2000
A newly opened luxury tented camp in the Serengeti is seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee its full financial operations. This role is critical to ensuring strong financial governance accurate reporting and sustainable profitability within a boutique hospitality environment.
The successful candidate will serve as the financial lead on site supporting management decision-making through robust controls analysis and strategic financial insight.
Key Responsibilities;
- Prepare review and maintain accurate financial statements management reports budgets and forecasts for the camp.
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and general ledger.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial plans in collaboration with camp management.
- Conduct regular financial performance analysis identifying variances trends risks and opportunities to improve profitability.
- Ensure full compliance with local tax statutory and regulatory requirements including coordination of audits where required.
- Provide timely financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Supervise mentor and develop finance staff ensuring efficiency accuracy and strong internal controls.
- Partner with department heads to optimize revenue and enforce effective cost controls.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to maintain financial stability.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience;
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field; CPA ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- 35 years experience in a financial management role ideally within hospitality lodges or camps.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial regulations and tax compliance.
- High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel or lodge systems is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and financial control skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a boutique hotel lodge or similar setting is a strong advantage.
