Job Summary
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgist whose primary responsibility isto safely perform tests and report testing evaluations. Work is to be performed in accordance with established QA procedures.
Salary: $70K-$85K/yr
Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate all equipment necessary to perform testing in the Metallurgical Lab
- Performs daily verifications and adjusts equipment baselines accordingly
- Performs standard and non standard metallurgical evaluations
- Maintains testing equipment for operation and performs routine housekeeping tasks associated with the area(s) trouble shooting as necessary.
- Insures that ample supplies are available for operation of testing area
- As needed interface with clients on matters of concern/interest
- Other duties as required
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline
- 2-4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
- Good knowledge on international standards and codes
- Excellent report writing skill
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated team playing with excellent organisational and communication skills
NOTE: This position requires access to export-controlled commodities technical data technology software and services. U.S. citizenship U.S. legal permanent resident status protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon the employer obtaining the necessary export authorization including if required an export license from the U.S. Department of Commerces Bureau of Industry and Security the U.S. Department of States Directorate of Defense Trade Controls or other applicable government agency.
