Your mission:
Ownership of complex accounting areas: You will be responsible for a variety of accounting challenges (including Share Based Payments (IFRS2)) requiring both strong data processing skills (manual and semi-automated calculation files) and knowledge of financial reporting and international accounting standards).
This includes:
performing controlling over the area;
managing and coordinating improvement projects aimed to make accounting processes more reliable efficient and automated;
collaborating with various finance and other teams to obtain understanding about transactions and work out appropriate accounting processes and sufficient controls to mitigate operational risks.
Project Management: As a UKlisted company preparing for a potential duallisting in 2026 Wise is working on strengthening the design and operating effectiveness of its internal controls. You will lead the SOX controls uplift within the General Accounting team driving improvements in both control design and execution.

Qualifications :
About you:
Practice You have prior experience as Senior Accountant Financial Controller or Audit Manager. Prior experience in international/listed companies or FinTech would be highly beneficial. You have practical experience in managing accounting projects and demonstrated resilience to break through and overcome challenges. You may have built things from scratch.
Theory Strong understanding of the core accounting principles (IFRS and/or US Gaap knowledge is a must.)
Ownership You work independently assume responsibility and make your own judgements. You are prepared to take ownership over complex new areas and solve problems with minimal guidance.
Love getting things done You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility to do whatever needs doing to solve problems.
Collaborative and influencing skills You work well in an international team environment and know how to have an impact through others. You have partnered with internal and external stakeholders and have strong communication skills.
Additional Information :
Salary range - 3300 to 4300 EUR gross monthly ( RSUs)
This role is based in our Tallinn office and requires the individual to have full working rights within Estonia to apply and the willingness to come into the office 3 days a week as per our hybrid working model.
