- Perform thorough foot assessments identify risk factors and develop individualized care plans according to evidence-based practices.
- Provide preventive care and treatment for foot conditions including managing skin issues trimming nails addressing calluses and treating ulcers and wounds.
- Implement strategies for pressure relief and offloading particularly for high-risk patients.
- Educate patients on daily foot care proper hygiene and appropriate footwear offering counselling and support to promote overall foot health.
- Follow strict infection control protocols and adhere to best practices for infection prevention particularly when managing high-risk populations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and maintain accurate up-to-date patient records.
Qualifications :
- Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care certificate is required
- Prior experience in foot care is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid G drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Computer knowledge and has the ability to learn proprietary software. Proficiency in Microsoft Word preferred
- Fluency in a second language is an asset
