AECOM is seeking a Senior Manager Process Intelligence & Discovery to lead the structured identification analysis and qualification of business processes that feed the Operational AI and Agentic Automation pipeline.
This role ensures opportunities are accurately understood appropriately prioritized and ready for solution designproviding the essential clarity required for successful automation and AI outcomes.
You will guide a team of Process Specialists facilitate discovery across HR IT Finance Operations and other functional groups and maintain consistent process modeling documentation and taxonomy standards. The role blends process analysis with early-stage strategic evaluation supporting Product Architecture and Delivery with actionable insights and high-quality discovery outputs.
What Youll Do
- Lead the organizations process discovery and intelligence practices including standards templates and BPMN 2.0 modeling expectations.
- Run structured intake triage and qualification of automation and AI opportunities using defined scoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Produce high-quality opportunity briefs documenting workflows dependencies value hypotheses and complexity indicators.
- Partner with Product Management to shape sequencing and roadmap alignment and contribute structured inputs to business case development.
- Support Solution Architects and Engineering Pods by providing clear process-level context including rules handoffs exceptions and decision logic.
- Analyze workflows to identify inefficiencies recurring patterns and standardization opportunities suited for automation or agentic AI.
- Maintain the process repository ensuring accurate taxonomy metadata versioning and searchability.
- Manage mentor and develop a team of Process Specialists establishing quality standards and consistent operating rhythms.
- Facilitate discovery workshops SME interviews and cross-functional review sessions.
- Partner with Value Realization and Observability teams to refine discovery methods using insights from operational data.
This position offers flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and some flexibility for virtual/telecommute work to be based in Austin TX.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree and 10 years in process analysis engineering BPM operational excellence or automation discovery or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 2 years of leadership.
- Experience leading teams or managing structured discovery efforts.
- Proficiency in BPMN 2.0 and experience with process or task mining tools.
- Familiarity with operational workflows in HR IT Finance or related areas.
- Experience supporting automation workflow or AI-driven transformation.
- Strong analytical thinking facilitation skills and the ability to create clarity in complex environments.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with Product Architecture Engineering and business stakeholders.
Preferred Requirements:
- COE experience APQC or value-stream taxonomies Lean Six Sigma exposure to Operational AI or agentic automation.
