What Youll Be Doing:
Leads planning scheduling organization control and completion of engineering projects within areas of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates technical projects and organizes those involved according to project requirements. Monitors expenditures on projects and reports status to management. Maintains project schedule monitors project progress compared to schedule and reports status to management. Estimates new business opportunities including tooling equipment and cost to manufacture products. Become familiar with and develop a good working knowledge of the manufacturing processes that the company uses to produce products. Performs with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.
- Schedules and plans for New Product Launches.
- Serves as primary non-commercial customer interface including:
- Product technical issues such as tolerance and GD&T negotiation.
- Coordination of customer prints during launch process.
- Acting as a liaison between the customer and internal resources.
- Holds the New Product Launch process accountable to completion on time and within budget. Reports status and obstacles to attaining goals to management for resolution.
- Establishes or coordinates the establishment of outside services as an element of assigned projects working with Purchasing to do so.
- Develops defines and implements product packaging for assigned projects.
- Coordinates the development of work instructions and set-up books throughout the product launch process.
- Plans and documents bill of materials and process routings.
- Coordinates the development and completion of engineering matters for products in all assigned projects.
- Oversees the collection of required data for metrics associated with New Product Launches.
- Ensures all reviews and critical communications in the New Product Launch process occur and are documented.
- Estimates new business opportunities including the tooling fixtures gauging and part cost estimates helping to define the projects budget and critical process measures for new products.
Travels frequently to support customer and product development.
Schedule:This exempt-level role will primarily workeight or more hours per day five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be daytime hours but may occasionally work or travel nights or weekends as needed.

EXPERIENCE - At least 3 years hands-on or direct experience with New Product Launch in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related lieu of degree: Associates degree and 5 years project management and roll forming experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Preferred

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES THAT ENABLE YOU TO SUCCEED |
- A solid understanding of products including materials roll forming processes high-volume manufacturing methods and tolerances. Understands processes and capabilities.
- Highly proficient in Office software: Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook and ability to learn new software tools.
- Hands-on experience with ERP or MRP. Global Shop Solutions is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Inventor or Solid Works.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Prioritizes appropriately.
- Ability to collaborate with coworkers customers and suppliers. Build rapport and develop alliances; adjusts communication style to meet the needs at various levels within organization.

- Ability to develop a strong understanding of production processes and capabilities.
