PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The Division of HIV Health as a condition of Pillar Zero in Ending the HIV Epidemic executes programs projects and initiatives targeting disparities in HIV prevention and care to make system-wide improvements that address the needs of vulnerable and marginalized populations. Through a variety of ethical best practices the Division of HIV Health hopes to improve access remove barriers to care and dismantle impeding practices that affect individuals commitment to remaining engaged in ongoing prevention and care.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Division of HIV Health (formerly known as The AIDS Activities Coordinating Office) is recruiting a temporary part-time Health Access Auditor to conduct calls in Spanish for the Surveillance Unit and Health Ethics & Access Officers translation access audit project and collect qualitative data from the call experience. All audit activities will take place on-site at DHHs offices. Auditors will work approximately 2-4 days per week. Employment is expected to last from mid-January to September 2026 but may end sooner or later depending on the pace of the auditing process. Auditors are also expected to attend a day-long training prior to job execution. Auditors will report to the Health Ethics & Access Officer.

Must be bilingual in Spanish and English

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Call different agencies to assess the efficacy of the translation services to provide necessary information to community members.
  • Conduct in-depth standardized surveying of the accuracy and experience of translation services.
  • Maintain data integrity (i.e. all data collected accurately represents the authentic experience and information from calling an agency/provider).
  • Accurately document phone translation experience and information on the audit forms provided for collection.
  • Prepare and maintain calling materials and supplies.
  • Assist with ongoing formative surveying/auditing as necessary.
  • Participate in required trainings.
  • Assist with other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Preferred: Customer service experience
  • Preferred: Strong command of accurate medical terminologies in Spanish and English

COMPENSATION: $26 per hour
