The Set-Up Technician will be responsible for the setup and care of our critical depositing pumping cooking and mixing assets. This position will set up line equipment daily in accordance with the schedule ensure the equipment is prepared to run production on time and at target.
Position Responsibilities may include but not limited to
- The primary pieces of equipment to setup daily are the SPEE-DEEs Waukesha Pumps Murzan Pumps Unifillers Kettles Mixers PMD Fillers Air Conveyors and anything else associated with running production
- The machines will be ready at the scheduled start up time with depositors set at the target weight mixers prepared to mix kettles prepared to cook pumps prepared to pump and any other pieces of equipment the plant uses to produce meals
- Assist with changeover during production hours as necessary.
- Responsible to be on the line to eliminate startup issues and ensure all weight targets are achieved at start up
- Anticipate and do light preventative maintenance such as changing O-rings frequently replacing substandard parts in advance so they do not cause leaks on the line and ensure mechanical parts are in good condition to achieve desired results.
- Assist maintenance in cleaning belts electrical boxes and other tasks identified by the maintenance leadership
- Follow & encourage others to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Be available via hand-held radio to answer calls pertaining to equipment and setup issues
- Repair hoses to compressed sanitation system
- Must be willing to be trained and comply with all necessary food safety programs SOPs GMPs as they relate to the food safety management system for their department

- Some mechanical aptitude to assemble and tear down machines
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to use hands to feel grab or operate objects tools and controls while reaching with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand communicate and listen
- Occasionally required to walk stoop kneel or crouch
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Able to perform repetitive movements
- Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
- Ability to push pull and lift 100 pounds occasionally
