Product Owner II AI Digital and Technology Partners Clinical Data Science OnsiteHybrid

This is an onsite/hybrid position - requires one day a week onsite.

Location: Mount Sinai Health 150 E 42nd Street New York NY

The Product Owner II is responsible for executing the strategic direction continuous improvement functional and technical roadmap for AI products. This role requires a deep understanding of both existing capabilities and the broader AI marketplace (commercial vendor tools Epic-integrated features and emerging digital and AI innovations). Product Owners work with cross functional teams to:

• Understand how to compete and differentiate in product delivery
• Build the right foundations to create and scale differentiated experiences
• Plan manage and drive applications for success in meeting product experience goals
• Manage backlog of product deliverables and groom according to learnings from qualitative and quantitative sources and in alignment with organizational goals
• Consult with stakeholders to define requirements and develop solutions translating clients business requirements into specific systems applications and designs for solutions.
• Ensure all products meet internal AI governance and compliance standards by routing applicable tools through the AI Assurance Lab for risk evaluation model card documentation and performance monitoring.

As a leader in the organization the Product Owner II will also be responsible for leadership activities inclusive but not limited to the following.

• Advising leadership on the technology portfolio within and sometimes outside of a product area of focus
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and directions business systems and requirements to conduct independent analyses and reviews of technical and business requirements.
• Understanding the long-term business objectives and proposes technology strategies to meet those objectives by introducing innovation through technology
• Mentor and coach junior product owners or cross-functional partners
• Influence without direct authority across engineering data science design operations and compliance
• Drive alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders with competing priorities

1. Ensure technical design supports objectives and measures appropriately tying back to concept objectives supporting business goals
2. Lead the technical design process the skillful application of experience research and due diligence to the planning and execution of development and architecture. Evaluate existing solutions or explore new solutions.
3. Prioritize the product backlog as a list of work for development derived from the product roadmap and its requirements
4. Determining the overall timelines for the projects and use tactical session/documents designed to capture and track the features planned for the project
5. Define what can be delivered according to project plans and how that work will be achieved.
6. Utilize retrospectives as an opportunity to reflect on collaboration efforts and a time to identify how to apply past insights to the upcoming project or sprint.
7. Conduct demos to show the value of the product or project or service to a current or prospective business group.
8. As a Product Owner manage product or product portfolio roadmap as a shared source of truth that outlines the vision direction priorities and progress of a product over time.
9. Define and track KPIs and measurable success criteria
10. Partner with data science and engineering teams to ensure AI models are deployable scalable and maintainable
11. Oversee post-launch monitoring of AI performance drift and user impact
12. Drive iteration strategies for models based on real-world outcomes
13. Contribute to investment decisions by evaluating cost value and return
14. Consider total cost of ownership (build vs. buy infrastructure licensing)
15. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

• Bachelors degree in a technical or healthcare discipline.
• Nine or more years of related experience In -depth knowledge of associated technology areas that could impact area of responsibility; healthcare technology experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms tailor communication to audience mediate and facilitate communications between others and communicate architecture to all levels of management and customers. Ability to gain buy-in from stakeholders to resolve significant architecture issues.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $120000.00 - $180060.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
