Job Summary

The Associate Director of Development works closely with the development team to plan implement and coordinate effective multi-year strategies and plans for gift prospects including individual foundation and/or corporate donors. Applicants will work from TNCs Hailey ID office with the option of in-office or hybrid work arrangements.

The Idaho Associate Director of Development is responsible for managing and building upon a portfolio of qualified donors including donors with the capacity to give $250000 or more. They excel at donor acquisition and understand and apply complex principles of donor strategies. They will be responsible for direct asks to global divisional and local priorities toward an annual fundraising goal of $or more contributing to a $6M annual team goal. They have comfort with discussing assets and they listen for opportunities for gifts of assets or other non-cash gifts such as planned gifts and trade lands. The ADoD provides opportunities for donors to receive recognition grow their engagement with the Conservancy and increase future giving. They involve appropriate partners and collaborate effectively across a disperse organization to inspire donors to make major and principal gifts. They can communicate about the programs of the Conservancy in detailed terms and can confidently discuss a variety of giving options. The ADoD understands project budgets and may build proposal budgets utilizing this knowledge. They are affective at developing and activating a referral network and work well with networks of volunteers including members of the Board of Trustees. They will be required to use the Conservancys donor database and may develop proposals. This role does not oversee or manage other staff.

What Youll Bring:

  • Bachelors degree and 6 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents.
  • Experience in asking for and closing gifts of $50000 or more.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors or similar constituents.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams preferably in a large non-profit or business.
  • Experience working with fundraising and/or sales principles and practices.
  • Experience coursework or other training in current trends in charitable giving in the areas of capital campaigns major gifts or planned giving.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in donor discovery work that involves creative or entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse staff representing cross-functional teams to meet fundraising deadlines and goals.
  • Experience in creating implementing and managing fundraising plans including individualized cultivation solicitation and recognition plans.
  • Ability to determine an individuals interests capacity and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals and to act appropriately to tie those interests to the Conservancys work.
  • Demonstrated experience using listening diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex high profile or sensitive agreements.
  • Working knowledge of the basics of charitable gift planning.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.

This position requires a valid drivers license and compliance with TNCs Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles rental cars or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered high risk drivers. Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidates actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors including for example the candidates location qualifications specific skills and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
