Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ultrasonographer to join our dynamic team of animal healthcare professionals. As an ultrasonographer you will play a crucial role in obtaining diagnostic quality ultrasound images for interpretation by diagnostic imaging specialists with the use of advanced ultrasound imaging technology. Provide clear documentation of sonographic findings in medical record and with clinicians. Demonstrate excellent time management skills by efficiently managing a high volume ultrasound service and patient schedule. Your expertise will contribute to imaging veterinary patients and youll collaborate closely with our veterinarians and support staff to provide the highest standard of care.

This is a 100% FTE/ 40 hours a week position. The incumbent will have a flexible work schedule between the hours of 8:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Occasional on-call may be needed as required by the hospital. Exact schedule will be determined with the candidate upon hire.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate records and files in the section by utilizing the PACS and following other

    procedures pertaining to records (5%)

  • Instruct and supervise professional veterinary students participating in core and elective clinical rotations in sonography. Instruct diagnostic medical sonography to residents and interns (5%)

  • Operates ultrasound equipment and assists patients with ambulation during procedures to ensure accurate data collection and to minimizing patient exposure to high-amplitude sound waves (50%)

  • Troubleshoots and reports equipment problems to supervisor (5%)

  • Identifies and documents any unexpected results that may indicate the need for further testing or immediate medical attention (20%)

  • Assesses the need to adapt the planned procedures to achieve optimal results and confers with medical personnel (10%)

  • Performs case rounds with ultrasound elective students (5%)

Compensation:

The starting hourly rate for the position is $29.00 (but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications).

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification Required

ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) Certification Required

High School Diploma Preferred
