As a Business Process Engineer youll play a key role in driving efficiency clarity and continuous improvement across the university.

About the Institutional Portfolio Management (IPM) Department

The IPM department is part of the CFO org and is responsible for driving strategic execution and transformation across the WGU System. We manage portfolios of enterprise initiatives that align with WGUs 5-Year Strategic Planconnecting strategy to action. Our work enables leaders to execute bold system-wide change by:

Designing innovative business processes that improve productivity and scale.
Building enterprise capabilities in Agile Innovation Portfolio Management and Rapid Technology Development.
Identifying and mitigating enterprise risks while driving cost efficiency and waste reduction.

Architecting a robust business process ecosystem framework in order to evolve WGUs BPM maturity to the next level.

The Role: Business Process Engineer

As a Business Process Engineer youll design analyze and implement institutional business processes to support growth service levels and cost performance across WGU. Youll identify areas for improvement propose solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your work will help streamline workflows enhance efficiency and ensure alignment with WGUs strategic goals.

What Youll Do

Analyze and document business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
Suggest and implement process improvements based on data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback
Develop and implement standard operating procedures best practices and guidelines
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute process changes and ensure smooth implementation
Use Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive process optimization and coach others in their application

What Youll Bring

Bachelors degree in Engineering(industrial mechanical manufacturing service systems chemical aerospace) or a closely related field.
1 year of experience in business process engineering improvement or continuous improvement roles.

Bonus Points If You Have

Masters degree (Business Administration OperationsResearch Data Analytics Engineering Management) or a closely related field.
Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification
Lean Bronze certification
2 years of professional experience in a technical/engineering background
2 years of experience with Lean & Six Sigma methodologies/tools in business process optimization

Work Location

This is afull-time in-office positionat WGUs headquarters inSalt Lake City UT.

Position & Application Details
