Position overview
The Acute Care Registered Nurse Med Tele/Med Surg provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical post-surgical and telemetry needs in an acute care setting. This junior-level role is ideal for nurses with 1 2 years of experience who want to strengthen assessment telemetry and med/surg skills while working in a busy team-oriented environment.
Key responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect nursing care to adult medical and post-surgical patients including those requiring continuous telemetry monitoring.

Perform comprehensive and focused assessments monitor vital signs interpret basic telemetry and promptly report changes in patient condition.

Administer medications IV fluids and treatments safely and monitor for therapeutic and adverse responses.

Assist with or perform dressing changes wound care mobility assistance and other nursing interventions to support recovery and prevent complications.

Use telemetry equipment to monitor heart rhythm blood pressure oxygen saturation and other parameters escalating abnormal findings appropriately.

Collaborate with physicians case management therapy and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans and discharge plans.

Educate patients and families on diagnoses medications procedures and self-care strategies to support recovery and reduce readmissions.

Document assessments interventions and patient responses accurately in the EMR and participate in unit safety and quality initiatives.
Required qualifications

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license with Arizona eligibility.

1 2 years of RN experience; prior Med/Surg and/or Telemetry experience preferred.

Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred per facility policy.

Foundational skills in medical-surgical nursing telemetry monitoring and acute care documentation.

Effective communication teamwork and organizational skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
