DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience acrossa number ofthe businessesat TD. The Model Development stress testing team has two mandates: developingmaintainingand executing stress testing projection models and developing andmaintainingpricing models for capital markets risk. The team works closely with partners in TD Economics Market Risk Control Mark Risk and Treasury and Balance Sheet Management during the development and execution phases.During maintenance and development periods we also work closely with our partners in Model Validation and Model Risk Management.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Co-op willassistin the annual model review and maintenance of the teams stress testing projection models for financial variables used for DFASTEWSTand MST. This is a key teamobjective.Accountabilitieswill include executing the models and testing their statistical and economic performance using python or R. In the case of degraded performance or if the team receives a request for development of a new model the Co-op will have the opportunity to help develop and implement the new model (implementation is usually carried out by coding in python and R). Opportunities also exist for improving our existing processes by automating manual tasks typically through coding inpython.

The combination of development ad-hoc analysis model maintenance and execution will provide a thorough understanding of our process; liaising with stakeholders and partners in MV and technology will strengthen the Co-ops communication skills as well as provide insight into the workings of various businesses.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Currentlyenrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree in an analytic field such as computer science engineering financial math math physics quantitative financestatisticsora relatedfield.

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school atthe start of your work term(requirement of all co-op/intern positions)

Strong analytical background.

Computational and programming knowledge (e.g. python or R).

A background in quantitative finance and/or statistics is an asset.

Strong interest in financial models and concepts.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong teammemberwith a focus on getting projects done effectively and efficiently.

Expected to work from the downtown Toronto office at least twice a week.
