Job Summary
Receives and greets patients and other general public as they enter the Laboratory to determine the reason for their visit/encounter and direct them to their appropriate destination including escort as necessary. Must maintain a working knowledge of all hospital and support services and all locations in the Hospital.
Answers or seeks answers to any questions that patients/family members may have concerning their encounter. Answers all incoming calls in a courteous and timely manner and route calls to appropriate area as necessary.
We are a full service hospital including new born critical care surgical orthopedics 2 emergency bays 1 express care center and 4 floors for our inpatients. We also have an outpatient drawing area that sees close to 150 patients a day.
Registers lab patients accurately by reviewing patient registration data to verify necessary patient demographics ordering/attending and primary care physician insurance primary vs. secondary coverage information medical and other required information.
Requirement description :
At least 2 years of phlebotomist/specimen processor experience - REQUIRED
Hospital experience - REQUIRED
Evening/Night Phlebotomist must have new born collection skills with capillary collection from heel - REQUIRED
Knowledge of centrifugation aliquoting & distribution of samples to the correct departments for sample analysis REQUIRED
Meditech experience - Preferred
