Job Description
We are looking for an afternoon teacher who loves to play inspire creativity and have fun with children. The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor play is organized and tidy and brings a positive energetic attitude to the classroom.
Candidates must be 16 years of age or older and hold current CPR/First Aid certification (or be willing to obtain it).
Responsibilities
- Change diapers and assist with toilet training as needed
- Use a variety of educational techniques (storytelling educational play media etc.) to support learning
- Observe each child and support the development of social skills and self-esteem
- Encourage positive peer interactions and help resolve occasional conflicts
- Guide children in developing artistic and practical skills through a thoughtfully planned curriculum (shapes numbers colors crafts etc.)
- Organize and supervise nap and snack times to ensure childrens safety
- Track childrens progress and communicate updates to parents
- Maintain regular respectful communication with families
- Collaborate effectively with other educators
- Maintain a clean organized classroom in accordance with health and safety standards
Qualifications & Skills
- No experience required training provided
- Understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices
- Familiarity with classroom safety and sanitation guidelines
- Strong communication and instructional skills
- Ability to calmly mediate conflicts between children
- Friendly reliable and patient demeanor
- A balance of creativity and practical problem-solving
- CPR/First Aid certification (required within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to complete all state licensing requirements and required trainings
Compensation & Growth Opportunities
Base pay is determined by education and experience. Scholarship programs are available to support continued education in the field including CDA and Montessori certification programs.
