This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and passionate Dual DiagnosisNurse to help shape our vision in how we provide clinical services to individuals whose lives have been affected by drugs and alcohol.
Where: Walsall
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
*Full Time Salary:37184.90 - 43384.61 (based on full time hours pro rata for part time)
Contract: Permanent
*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the role:
- Undertake physical and mental health assessments for people who access our services whenindicatedby clinical need and ensureappropriate signposting/referral to primary care orappropriate secondaryhealth care services foridentifiedhealthissues
- Provideeducation health promotion and screening for blood borne viruses (BBV).ProvideHepatitis B vaccinations whenindicated
- Contribute to CGLs Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in the use of Naloxone. Ensuring Naloxone is distributed to service users at everyopportunity
- Develop therapeutic alliances with people who have substance misuse problems and develop effective partnerships withthem
- Ensure that procedures are constantly reviewed to promote best practice andevidencedbased practicein accordance withUK Guidelines on Clinical Management NICE guidance and CGL clinical protocols and procedures
- Provideharm reduction advice to injecting service usersprovidinginformation and equipment and ensure all equipment is disposed of safely
- Record and input client data and information in order that the serviceoperateswithin contractual administrative and financial requirements
About you:
- First level registered nurse with recent relevant post qualification experienceand a current PIN
- Essential -Relevant recent experience of working directly within Mental Heath Services in the last 12 months - desirable Drug and Alcohol experience.
- Sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions
- Ability to assess and recovery plan service users and formulate written
reports as necessary - Clinical auditing skills to inform evaluation of the service andidentifyareas for development
- Employ a professional empathetic and non-judgmental attitude towards service users and all stakeholders
- An understanding of the importance of professional integrity in relationships with service users peers and other relevant professionals
