Leidos is seeking a Sr. WebSphere Admin/DevOps Engineer to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSAs Digital Modernization Strategy. • Develop design code and implement next-generation deployment automation using system/software engineering best practices and the latest technologies:
• DevOps (Jenkins Red Hat OpenShift Docker)
• Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code (UrbanCode Deploy Ansible Scripting)
• Administer IBM WebSphere Application Server including installing migrating upgrading deploying troubleshooting and configurating on Linux.
• Provide engineering contributions in one or more of these areas: software deployment application monitoring and performance tuning Microservice architecture container orchestration security or auto-scaling & application reliability engineering.
• Work closely and collaboratively with a small tightly knit high performing team of Leidos engineers and customer technical leads
• Investigate and repair application defects with development team regardless of component: front-end business logic middleware CI/CD pipeline or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling). Triage Java exceptions and tune JVM/application server
• Brief management customer team or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience
• All other duties as assigned or directed.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelors degree in computer science mathematics engineering or a related field.
• Masters or doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
• 8 years of combined experience with software development including deployment automation systems/application analysis and design
• 3 years of combined experience with Application Server Administration (WebSphere Application Server WebSphere Liberty)
• 2 years of combined experience with UrbanCode Deploy
• 1 year of experience with Ansible automation

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn MD 5 days a week.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

• Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server or Liberty administration in Linux.
• Solid experience automating application deployments for WebSphere using IBM UrbanCode Deploy.
• Strong experience in automating tasks scripting languages like Shell Python.
• Experience developing build scripts using Apache Ant and Apache Maven.
• Basic experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (Ansible automation CloudFormation / Terraform)
• Basic knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration
• Solid experience with version control software such as Git/Bitbucket.
• Basic knowledge with Java EE Java generics and concurrent programming
• Excellent communication and written skills

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

• Experience using Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
• Knowledge of IBM Content Manager administration
• AWS cloud certifications
• Experience with configuring and using Splunk or other log aggregator.
• Solid experience with PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes and Docker containers
• Solid experience with Spring Framework (Boot Batch Cloud Security and Data)
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL DB2) and SQL
• Experience with modern development software tools and methodologies.
• Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.
• Experience with DevOps and toolset (Git/Bitbucket Docker Jenkins SonarQube)
