Overview

AtkinsRéalis is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment). This position requires experienced individuals who are self-starter capable of working independently with minimal individuals will work in a fast-paced team environment performing engineering services for Nuclear Power Plants within a matrix organization.

Your role

  • Provide mechanical and equipment engineering support including preparing technical specifications data sheets reports bid evaluations purchase recommendations tender packages and quotation requests for NPP components and systems.

  • Perform conceptual and detailed mechanical design including calculations equipment sizing component selection and system layout development for nuclear steam plants.

  • Review design documents and drawings to support design verification and ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Define project scope track and report progress and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

  • Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams clients vendors and suppliers to resolve design issues and coordinate requirements.

  • Provide pre and postorder engineering support such as reviewing client requirements codes/standards cost estimating proposal preparation technical evaluations and managing design deviations.

  • Offer technical guidance to drafting and interfacing disciplines conduct site visits evaluate delivered equipment and ensure adherence to all applicable codes standards and procedures.

About you

  • Mechanical Engineering Credentials & Experience

    • Mechanical Engineering degree and 810 years of EPC/OEM mechanical design experience especially with industrial machinery and rotating equipment (turbines generators pumps compressors valves motors etc.).

    • Supervisory ability to lead mentor and train junior engineers.

  • Professional Engineering Qualifications

    • . registration or eligibility in Ontario with the ability to seal mechanical engineering documents.

    • Nuclear plant engineering experience and certifications in rotordynamics or vibration analysis considered assets.

  • Technical Expertise in Mechanical & Rotating Equipment

    • Strong knowledge of machine design mechanics materials lubrication shaft sealing systems pressure boundary design and rotating equipment sizing selection and troubleshooting.

    • Handson design experience with steam/gas turbines condensers heat exchangers engines pumps valves piping and ventilation systems for nuclear facilities.

    • Familiarity with CANDU equipment is an advantage.

  • Standards & Regulatory Knowledge

    • Working knowledge of CSAN285.0 ASME Section III/XI and relevant API standards () related to nuclear plant components pressure boundary equipment and reactor systems.

  • Communication & Mobility

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical report writing.

    • Willingness to travel or work on project sites as required with initial assignment based in Mississauga Ontario.
