Description
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: 3rd ShiftWaste Water Technician
DEPARTMENT:Waste Water
LOCATION:Ottumwa
SALARY CLASS:NonExempt
HOURS: Midnight - 10AM (Tuesday- Friday)
Responsibilities:
- Working in wastewater area for daily operational adjustments equipment operations andrecording data. Must be able to obtain an Iowa Grade 1 wastewater operator license within 18 months.
- Monitoring operating equipment & report any equipment problems.
- Recording equipment data.
- Help with lab testing
- Data entry of environmental data
- Operate sludge press
- General Housekeeping of Waste Water Plant area as is needed.
- Must be able to operate forklift as needed.
- Cover co-worker vacations as needed
- Work some holidays as needed (rotating with co-workers)
Qualification:
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience helpful but not required.
- Mechanicalskills
- General Math Skills
- Working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word for data entry
- Self-Motivator
- Able to workunsupervisedas required
- Able to work outside year round as needed
- Able to climb stairs
- Good attendance record(Less than3.0points for internal candidates)
