Responsible forproviding a variety of technical procedures andprescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for ourGoHealthUrgent Care patients. This roleis responsible forperforming and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers.Additionalresponsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation ofGoHealthUrgent Care Centers.In a collaborative manner the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers MedicalAssistantsand patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management organization and communication.
Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program
High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS)at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
Essential Functions
Responsible for x-ray services as needed
Under the direction of the clinical provider perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy toassistin diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.
Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
Will need to push patient in a wheelchair
Patient Preparation and Rooming
Inform technical staff of patient flow.
Prepare patients for examination which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information record medical history; confirm purpose of visit;
Perform preliminary physical test (blood pressure weight temperature etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases toprovideras needed.
Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e. flu strep urinalysis ECG HCG); and provide patient information toprovider.
Administrative
Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files.
Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up on care
Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment;maintainQuality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns perform preventive maintenance andsubmitrepair tickets as needed
Other responsibilities include:
Medical Team Support: Collaborate with the ordering/treating Provider todeterminewhich procedures or views will bestassistinaccuratediagnoses and treatment. Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
Patient Care:Explaining procedures to patients ensuring their comfort and safety and answering their questions.
Patient Positioning:Accurately positioning patients and equipment foroptimalimaging results.
Image Production:Selecting proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear high-quality diagnostic images
Equipment Maintenance:Performing routine maintenance cleaning of X-ray equipment and managing necessary supplies.
Radiation Safety:Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and implementing ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Documentation:Maintainingaccuratepatient records andloggingcompleted procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as.
Image Management:Verifying image quality and ensuring images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
2. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics
and patient movement.
3. Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Skills:
1. Positioning patients properly for the X-ray procedure.
2.Identifyingequipment problems and correcting or notifyingsupervisor.
3. Following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
