About the Position:
Rockwood is seeking a disciplined and strategic Project Controls lead to bring clarity consistency and accountability to our project financials forecasting routines delivery operations and cross-functional coordination. This role is central to stabilizing project execution improving financial predictability and ensuring that project managers are equipped trained and supported in their ownership of delivery and budget performance.
The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with deep experience in consulting or government services project operations strong project management and financial acumen and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities may include:
Financial Forecasting & Spend Planning
- Lead monthly forecasting and project financial reviews leveraging dashboards and Unanet reports.
- Own the development and use of standard spend plan templates and tracking tools.
- Support scenario modeling for hiring proposal budgeting or resource shifts.
- Coach PMs on financial management pricing logic wrap rates and budget performance.
- Escalate project-level financial risks and trends to leadership in real time.
Delivery Operations & Project Management Oversight
- Lead project setup and closeout workflows ensuring contractual obligations and internal systems are in place.
- Oversee PM adherence to SOPs including financial processes and reporting cadence.
- Maintain ongoing communication with PMs primes and CORs; support MSR submissions and reporting discipline.
- Facilitate the PM Community of Interest for knowledge sharing and standardization.
Cross-Functional Planning & Budget Monitoring
- As needed support the management of cross-functional financial workflows between BD Ops and Delivery.
- Conduct ongoing burn rate and scenario analysis to anticipate staffing and delivery risks.
- Coordinate proposal pricing labor estimates and contract rate alignment in collaboration with BD and Finance.
Unanet Data Integrity & Tool Governance
- Serve as the Unanet administrator and address associates needs and questions
- Maintain integrity of project and contract data in Unanet ensuring alignment with staffing and financial realities.
- Manage financial setup modifications and closeout processes in coordination with internal and vendor partners.
- Ensure proper LCAT assignments and time entry compliance.
Organizational Reporting & Improvement
- Prepare monthly executive reporting on project financial health forecasting accuracy and delivery performance.
- Lead continuous improvement of project controls processes and tool adoption.
- Champion a culture of proactive planning documentation and internal customer service.
Required Qualifications:
- 7 years in project controls delivery operations or financial planning within consulting government contracting or professional services.
- Experience managing project financials budgets forecasting and coaching project managers.
- Strong technical skills in Excel and project finance tools; Unanet experience strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence across departments without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to build systems templates and routines that others can adopt and sustain.

Salary Range:
The annual salary range for this position is $95000.00-125000.00. Your salary may vary within this range depending on a wide range of factors including (but not limited to) your qualifications skills experience security clearances licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
