Position Purpose
Completes patient registrations/pre-registration processes following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.
What you will do
Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations registration and admission functions
Verifies insurance requirements obtains and understands insurance benefits
Ensures that all entries concerning demographic financial and advanced directives are
Collects non-covered fees
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum High school or equivalent
One year experience in an accredited hospital or physicians office preferred
Strong interpersonal communication and interview skills
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
Position Highlights and Benefits
Full time 40hrs per week on evenings 3p-11:30p including every other weekend. Shift and weekend differentials will apply
ORIENTATION IS MON-FRI 8a-4:30p FOR 2-3 WEEKS. Half will be in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center
3rd week required for new colleague with less than 1 year of hospital-based registration experience
