Job Summary

Advanced Public Health Practitioner NE Regional Reducing Gambling Harms Lead Middlesbrough Council are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and knowledgeable Advanced Public Health Practitioner on behalf of the North East Regional Gambling Harms network.

This post will take a leadership role in the delivery of a regional programme of work addressing the harms and inequalities associated with gambling. All members of society have the right to live without unnecessary and preventable risk to health and safety from gambling products and gambling industry practices whether land-based or online. Association of Directors of Public Health The network is an established dedicated multi-agency partnership approach with representation from public health trading standards and the NHS. It will also involve working alongside academic partners to embed a culture of test evaluate learn and report. This will enable a robust multi-method evaluation approach to be applied to interventions and support for knowledge mobilisation and wider dissemination.

Applications are invited from dynamic individuals who are keen to help lead this programme across the entire region.

This post will play a key role in improving health and well-being and reducing health inequalities caused by gambling-related harms in the North East.

This will be achieved by:

Ongoing development delivery and evaluation of a programme of work specific to gambling-related harms across the North East.

Providing specialist public health leadership in further developing implementing and evaluating the North East Gambling Related Harms action plan.

Being responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the North East Gambling Related Harms.

Provide specialist advice management and support for gambling leads across the North East region working alongside key partners including NECA the NHS Northern Gambling Clinic and others.

Seeking to address Gambling-Related Harm across primary secondary and tertiary prevention.

Strengthening local resilience through the building of internal skills and capabilities and enhancing engagement with key partners including the Voluntary and Community Sector.
